Mitsubishi Motors Announces New Non-Executive Board Member

Tokyo, April 14, 2004 -- Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today announced that its board of directors nominated Dr. Eckhard Cordes as a member of the board. Cordes, whose nomination is subject to approval at an extraordinary shareholders' meeting on April 30, will join as a non-executive member of the board.

Cordes, 53, is currently a member of DaimlerChrysler's Board of Management and is responsible for the Commercial Vehicle Division.
