-- Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today announced its board of directors yesterday nominated Yoichiro Okazaki as the company's new chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Okazaki, 61, will take up the position left vacant when the company's former president and CEO Rolf Eckrodt stepped down on April 26. Okazaki is currently a director at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and was nominated to become MMC's new chairman on February 19.
The nomination is subject to approval at an extraordinary shareholders' meeting and board of directors' meeting to be held today.
