Mitsubishi Motors signed an agreement for the granting of incentives with Russian Ministry

Tokyo, December 28, 2007  — Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today announced that the company and the Ministry of Economic Development & Trade (MEDT) of the Russian Federation signed an agreement for the granting of incentives (decree 166*) for industrial assembly.

This agreement is endowed with the right to incentives, but MMC is still in the process of studying the feasibility of local production in Russia. MMC will make an announcement once all of its plans are set.

Decree 166 covers the granting of incentives for automakers relating to establishment of local production facilities ("industrial assembly"). Such incentives include customs duties relief or privileges for importation of automobile components.
