Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation's
affiliated local production and sales company in the Philippines, put
a new concept multi-purpose vehicle, the ADVENTURE, on the market on Wednesday
January 28.

ADVENTURE
The new model will be unveiled at the Philippine Sports Complex in Manila
at 7.00 pm local time on January 28. Among the 5,000 people due to attend
the launch ceremony will be Mitsubishi Motors president Katsuhiko Kawasoe,
Nissho Iwai president Masatake Kusamichi, MMPC president Makoto Maeda,
government officials, representatives of suppliers and dealers, as well
as Mitsubishi vehicle customers.
Mitsubishi Motors recently developed a semi-bonnet Dynamic Family Wagon
(DFW) that offers passenger car levels of comfort and performance for
the Asian and ASEAN region as well as for other markets. The DFW made
its sales debut in Taiwan, where it carries the name FREECA, in September
last year.
ADVENTURE is the second model in the DFW series. It offers passenger
car levels of road performance, ease of entry and egress, advanced styling,
as well as outstanding safety levels and space utility at very reasonable
prices. ADVENTURE also introduces a new concept: A vehicle with a sport
utility flavor that is ideally suited to either private or commercial
use.
Mitsubishi Motors worked closely with MMPC in conducting detailed market
surveys to determine a specification that fully reflected market needs.
ADVENTURE is powered by a low-consumption 2500cc diesel engine and configured
as a 10-passenger vehicle that enjoys favorable tax treatment as an ASEAN-produced
utility automobile for the Philippines market.
Plans call for a production volume of 8,000 units in the first year,
eventually peaking at 15,000 units a year.
