Mitsubishi Motors Introduces New Design for Dealer Showrooms

- Renovations aim to strengthen brand image, create top level sales standards -

Tokyo, April 18, 2003 -Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today announced it has completed renovating its Midorigaoka outlet in Tokyo, marking the first in a series of renovations to dealer outlets that will create a common look for showrooms throughout Japan. The next revamped outlet, also located in Tokyo, is due to open in mid-May.

The Midorigaoka outlet is one of several renovated outlets MMC will open to gauge customer reaction and provide feedback to improve the basic design ahead of taking the renovations nationwide.

Based on MMC's new corporate identity design guidelines, the renovations-which cover both exterior appearance and interior decorating-are intended to bolster the company's brand image and raise customer satisfaction.

All signage uses the same design based on red and silver-MMC's corporate colors-to make the new-look outlets easily recognizable as Mitsubishi Motors stores. The clear design of the interior helps bring out the best qualities of the cars on display, while wood-grain furniture and glass partitions give a bright, open feel to the interior.

On 1 January 2003, MMC integrated its two sales channels into a single Mitsubishi Motors dealer network. In a bid to take the leading position in the industry's sales satisfaction index, the new network will offer industry-leading sales standards, allowing customers to receive the same high quality service at any location throughout Japan. The company is currently implementing a set of dealer standards to be finalized by April 2004.
