-Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today
announced it will move its headquarters from Tamachi to the new Shinagawa
Mitsubishi Building located in the Shinagawa Grand Commons commercial
district near Shinagawa Station, Tokyo. The company will start operating
from the new headquarters on May 6.
The 32-story Shinagawa Mitsubishi Building-built to meet the needs of
global companies in the 21st century-is wired with the latest
information technologies such as internet protocol telephones, an integrated
server, and a wireless local area network (WLAN). This modern IT infrastructure
will further facilitate the coordination of Mitsubishi Motors' production
and sales activities worldwide and thus speed up the company's reaction
to changing consumer needs in the more than 170 countries the company
is active in.
With total floor space of around 158,000 square meters, the building
offers plenty of common area for use as collaboration space and relaxation
rooms. Office layout can be easily changed to reflect organizational and
personnel changes.
Visitors to the building can see the latest Mitsubishi cars on offer
in the second floor showroom, while major events will be held in the 500-seat
Mitsubishi Motors Hall on the third floor. The fourth floor will house
the Diamond Plaza, a multifunctional hall that can be used and rented
out for various events.
Security measures include the use of security cards to restrict access
and advanced systems to protect corporate information from outsiders and
maintain critical management functions in the event of an emergency. The
building is also well equipped to stand up to natural disasters such as
earthquakes.
