| Mitsubishi Motors Production, Exports Up in February |

- Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today
announced production, sales, and export results for February 2003.
Total overseas production climbed 18.8 percent on year to 73,605 units,
the second consecutive month of increases. By area, Asia posted a 35.6
percent gain to 45,298 units, North America was down 3.1 percent to
16,619 units, and Europe gained 15.1 percent to 6,501 units.
Exports totaled 31,771 units in February for a 4.8 percent increase
on last year-the 11th straight monthly gain. Exports to Asia totaled
4,202 units while Europe exports increased to 6,534 units. North America
was up 12,196 units.
Although overall domestic sales declined 9.3 percent compared to last
February, robust sales of the new Colt compact car helped sales of vehicles
other than minicars surge 25.8 percent. Total domestic sales in February
totaled 33,048 units. MMC's market share in February, including minicars
and imports, was 6.3 percent, slightly up from 6.2 percent in January.
Domestic production declined 9.6 percent on year, to 65,513 units.
It was the first decline after four months of increases.
