In two weeks since 18 November launch
New Lancer Cedia Wagon orders exceed target by 50% Topping 3,000

Tokyo, 7 December 2000 : Mitsubishi Motors Corporation reports that orders for the new Lancer Cedia Wagon model taken in the first two weeks since its launch on 18 November have exceeded target by 50%.

Developed to an "Active touring wagon" theme and embodying sporty performance with high levels of functionality, utility and quality, the new Lancer Cedia Wagon is distinguished by the following:

  • A stylish design that projects functional beauty and quality: The result of front end styling that it shares with its sedan cousin, the clean and no-fuss surface composition of its body sides and the tail-the defining feature of a station wagon- and its truncated roof line and the slim line rear combination light units.
  • Compact body and big cabin packaging: Realizes a very roomy and comfortable interior space and, together with the versatility expected of a station wagon stemming from the multiple rear seat arrangements, provides a generously sized luggage compartment.
  • Powertrain: The new Cedia Wagon series is driven by Mitsubishi's own 1.8-liter GDI+INVECS-III CVT powertrain that delivers outstanding response and fuel economy. Touring trim levels are offered with the INVECS-III Sport Mode 6-CVT transmission that incorporates a manual override for sportier driving fun. All models are available with Mitsubishi's full-time four-wheel drive that uses a viscous coupling unit.
  • Safety & environmental performance: Standard on all models, Mitsubishi's RISE advanced safety body and SRS airbags for driver and front passenger bring high levels of safety. All models comply with 2010 Fuel Consumption Standards and Japanese 2000 Emission Regulations.

Fastest-selling trim level Touring accounts for around 76% of total orders-two-wheel and four-wheel drive accounting for 58% and 18% respectively.
