| Mitsubishi Motors Corporation announces that, effective September 1,
it is to establish an inde-pendent Quality Matters Advisory Committee (QMAC)
made up of people from outside the com-pany as a step to improving quality
levels in MMC products. The QMAC secretariat has already commenced preparatory
work for the first QMAC session.
1. QMAC mission and outline

The QMAC will first convene sometime during September, at which
time it will evaluate, and make recommendations regarding, measures
implemented by the internal Quality Issue Action Committee(QIAC).
The recommendations will be reflected in the QIAC's activities. |

After the first session, the QMAC will convene once every month,
when it will audit the im-plementation of quality remedies and the
running of the quality control organization. |
| (3) |
After each session, the QMAC will submit a report of its audit to
the company president. The report will be informed to all employees
by executives. |
2. Committee makeup
| (1) |
QMAC to comprise persons from judicial circles such as lawyer Mr.
Akira Fujishima (former Supreme Court justice), specialists from automotive
and other fields, financial analysts from outside MMC and MMC auditors.
Selection of members is now underway. 5 or 6 persons will be selected. |

The Corporate Relations & Research Department of the Office of Corporate
Planning & Strategy will serve as the secretariat for the QMAC. |
3. Term
| The QMAC will serve a term of one year, starting September 1, 2000. |
