Mitsubishi Motors to Offer Limited Edition Minicar for Hanshin Tigers Fans

Limited edition eK Classy Hanshin Tigers Edition
Tokyo, August 20, 2003 -Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) today announced it will release a limited edition version of its chic eK Classy minicar in Japan's Kinki region from August 30.

MMC is offering 200 units of the eK Classy Hanshin Tigers Edition targeted at fans of the Hanshin Tigers professional baseball team. The Tigers, based in the western city of Osaka, currently command a comfortable lead in Japan's Central League competition and look like a certainty to take the title for the first time in 18 years.

In line with its renewed customer-oriented approach, MMC opted to release this special edition model to commemorate the Tigers' achievements this season and give loyal fans a way to show off their enthusiasm for the team.

The car includes a host of special features to give it a unique Tigers' flavor: the Tigers theme song plays when one of the doors is opened; keys with a remote control come in black and yellow, the team's colors, and the yellow key has a logo with the letters "H" and "T" and the year "2003" imprinted in it; stripes down the side panels are decorated with the team's logo; and the tailgate is emblazoned with the round tiger mark seen on the team uniform.

The 2WD, 4-speed automatic transmission Hanshin Tigers Edition is based on the L-grade eK Classy and comes in Yellow Solid or Beige Solid.
